Reverse Phone Number Lookup

I get calls from this number every now and again, I'm on optus prepaid, seems to be the trend.

I'm an Optus pre-paid user and have had my current number for almost a year. I too have been getting calls from 0281143800 for roughly 2 weeks now. I never answered due to the fact the number was unrecognisable to me. I'm amazed how far back these complaints are from. Optus seriously needs to get its shit together.

Just got a missed call from this number. I'm glad I google this unknown missed call and find that it's probably scam only. Pretty annoying. Any idea how to block it??

Just got called, it's 6pm Wed 26th Mar 08, i was suspicious as it was late thank god i said i was unavailable. Im peed off that optus have been giving out our details to tellemarketers!!

I just got a missed call from this number, didn't answer it. I always google unknown missed call numbers first and I'm glad I did. Hope they can stop the wanker responsible.

Got 2 calls from this number in 2 days - the last one about 10 mins ago, haven't answered as i didnt recognise the number. Googled it and found this. I hope it stops.

I get calls daily to my mobile - when I've answered the phone line drops out. Probably coming from a call centre where the computer dials several numbers at once. I have a silent number for specifically this reason. Can't somebody stop this?

I've been getting calls from this number for the past couple of weeks, often at stupid hours of the night. Whenever i pick up i usually get a recorded message which i hang up on, but sometimes i get someone with a really thick indian accent who asks to speak to my mum (???). Freaking annoying.

I have been called by them a number of times. I have just called them and was able to hear a message: They are Optus Australia. They are a contact centre and wish to inform you opf an offer frpm Optus that you are elligble for. They say they will be calling you back. I hope this helps those who haven't been able to get the message (I have phoned them before and the lines has dropped out on me too). I would be very suspicious though if they are asking for your details.

Some sort of dodgy scam where optus have outsourced overseas to try and sign you up to new plans - apparently if you do sign up it's all legit - yet optus claim to have nothing to do with it as they aren't supposed to share your details in such a way or something. Anyway, if you call optus to have the number blocked they will say it's not them, tell you they'll look into it and then apparently the calls will mysteriously stop.

I just got the call. I was distracted so answered without looking at the number first. They do claim to be from Optus offering me a $49 Cap for $300. I got a little sus as Optus usually tell you about new plans via sms or when you recharge.I just insisted that I wished to speak to my partner first...I dont...its my phone and I do what I want with it....But she kept hammering me for my details and changing the plan when I said I wasnt ready to do it yet...Oddly enough she backed down and asked when she could ring back....then I got a second call from the same number almost straight away...there was no one on the line when I answered. Pity as by then I was pretty sure it wasnt Optus...even though she kept telling me it was......at least 10 times she reminded me she was from Optus. As someone else said....why did she need my details if she was truly from Optus.....but also...how did she get my name????? I have prepaid with no message bank.

Yeah, been getting calls from this often in Sydney. I got a call about 30 minutes ago (7:41pm), happened before, missed both though. Called it back, claims to be Optus sales/repair. It does state that if you don't want them to call again, leave your name and phone... but screw that. Most likely crap.

Yea I received about 5 calls from this number. The first time I answered an d couldn't understand a word the girl on the other line was saying, only that she would call me back. Havent answered any of their calls since. Thank god I found this site otherwise I would be still wondering who the number belonged to! I suggest to ignore whoever these people are, sounds like a scam.

Received call from this number 4.37pm 1.2.2008. I thought it was a call I was expecting from Sydney but on ringing back just nothing, no ring tone, nothing.

i've been getting calls about once or twice a week for the past couple of weeks, but now they've been ringing every day for the past few days. very annoying! when i stupidly answered one of them, i couldn't understand a word the person was saying and just hung up. from what i could decipher, they claimed to be from optus.

they rang today 10.43am 29/12/2007 Claimed to be from Optus, offered $49.00 Cap payable at Post Office. They started to ask me for details, if it was Optus they would already have my details

yep i got phone call from this number and as i dont know anyone from sydney (02) i didnt asnwer it, lucky i didnt! i got another phone call from another (02) number, i think u got to be very careful who u answer to these days, if i dont know number or private i never answer it... stuff that i dont want massive bills!

Yeah its called me a couple of times but it could be so that it uses your msge bank and you have to pay for it so you get a higher bill cause im on a 40 dollar plan and my bills were reaching as high as two hundred dollars a month and i hardly made any calls so i cancelled my voice mail and i haven't had a bill over 60 dollars since- might be a suggestion.

just spoke to my phone carrier and they said we all should ring and report this number, my last bill was very high and i just paid it and threw out the numbers and price part so maybe thats why i was so high for 2 mts so i suggest you look as well. rememer that so people set it up to make you call and then charge you big dollars for ringing so check and complain if so as they need to be stopped. good luck guys who read this....

I Have been getting thesae call and it is starting to piss me off. At first i thought it was Dell Computing as the have a similar number. How do they get my number i am on the do not call regisitar

Same problem here. I call the number back and it rings twice and when it answers there is no one on the other end. I tried to get the number blocked through my mobile service provider and they told me they are unable to block it all they could do is report it to the police, what good is that going to do? Don't know what to do but it's ticking me off!!

Exact problem. It calls me everyday sometimes twice. Very annoying. I just hang up on it now. Even when i answer it hangs up straight away. Nobody is there to even answer
